Excavation & Dirt Work
Gravel roads, driveways, grading, drainage prep, and dirt work for access and property improvements.
Shape the ground right
Good dirt work is the foundation of almost every outdoor project. We grade, cut, fill, and shape the ground for access, drainage, and a solid base for what gets built on top of it.
Whether you need a driveway that holds up, water moved away from a building, or a pad leveled, we move the dirt to make it work.
What we handle
Gravel roads & driveways
Cut, fabric, road base, finish gravel, and crown — built to shed water and hold up to use.
Drainage prep
Shape and grade the ground to move water away from buildings and low spots.
Grading & leveling
Level pads, yards, and work areas to the grade the project needs.
Cleanup & haul
Clear, cut, and haul material as part of getting the site right.
How we install a gravel road
A lasting gravel road is more than rock dumped on dirt. We cut the subgrade, separate it with geotextile fabric, build a compacted base, then finish with crushed gravel and a crown so water runs off both sides instead of pooling in the middle.
-
Cut & compact the subgrade
Excavate about 8″ below finished grade and compact the existing soil so the road has a solid foundation.
-
Lay geotextile fabric
Fabric separates road base from the soil, stops mixing, and improves long-term stability.
-
Place & compact road base
About 6″ of crushed stone / road base, compacted for structural support and load distribution.
-
Finish gravel & crown
About 2″ of 3/4″ minus crushed stone for the driving surface, crowned 2–4% (¼″–½″ per foot) so water sheds both sides.
Example quantities for a 415′ × 12′ road: excavation ~123 yd³ · geotextile ~5,300–5,600 sq ft · road base ~92 yd³ · finish gravel ~31 yd³. Your site may differ — send length, width, and photos for a real quote.

Common questions
Do you build gravel roads and driveways?
Yes. We excavate the subgrade, install geotextile fabric, place and compact road base, then finish with crushed gravel and a proper crown so water sheds off both sides. Tell us the length and ground and we will scope it.
Can you fix drainage problems?
We grade and shape the ground to move water where it should go. Show us the problem area and we will plan it.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes, from a single pad or driveway to larger site work. We size the equipment to the job.
